Its been 44 days since my last studio session. And even though I didn’t feel rusty, I could tell I was out of it a bit, but the homie b.ware help me through it though.
I was able to get one of my songs mixed, and was so surprised how well it sounded. My goal for my music when I record is to make it sound how it does when I’m constructing it in my head. I had been nervous about this particular song I had mixed today because I wasn’t sure it was going to sound as intended. Pete, my engineer, really made sure that the texture in my voice was properly conveyed. My nigga b also added a few much needed tassels. (Kilted and glazed, if you will)
The whole vibe of the session felt good. I haven’t enjoyed myself as far as having fun the last two sessions. The studio had started feeling like work, but in the company of good people as you will see in the footage below, the working environment was quite enjoyable.
Shout out to everyone who watched the live Ustream studio session. I finally had someone to hold down the boards while I was handling business. The lovely, beautiful, and oh so talented, @SexiMixedOne show wonderful studio etiquette, while being your gracious Ustream host. I’m not sure how many times, if ever, she’d been involved in a studio session, so I didn’t know what she would expect or respond in my particular studio environment. I was just hoping she hadn’t seen movies, tv shows, rap videos, etc expecting some sort of thugged out, smoked out ambience. But seeing how she only recently saw “Friday”, I should have assumed she was going in Tabula Rasa…
anyway.. peace..lol
